Wall Street Journal Ranks Engineering 15th

The College of Engineering was ranked 15th among the nation’s engineering schools by recruiters in a study published in the Wall Street Journal Sept. 13.

The study surveyed 479 recruiters from the nation’s largest public and private companies, nonprofit organizations and government agencies. Among public schools, NC State engineering ranked 12th nationwide.

Among universities, NC State ranked 19th overall and 16th among public schools. Overall, the Journal found that “state universities have become the favorite of companies recruiting new hires because their big student populations and focus on teaching practical skills gives the companies more bang for their recruiting buck.”

The university rankings put NC State ahead of MIT, Notre Dame, Rutgers, the University of Southern California, UNC-Chapel Hill and others.
