Walk on Over to Wellness Expo

Do something good for yourself: visit the employee wellness expo from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at the McKimmon Center.

Organizers suggest you get off to a healthy start by walking over instead of driving. Seriously.

Once you get there, more than 50 vendors will provide some motivation in the form of health screenings, helpful information and maybe even a free pedometer to track your steps.

While you’re there, you can get a flu shot during the first campus clinic of the season. It’s free if you’re covered under the State Health plan or Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance. Sign up online to make sure there’s an adequate supply of vaccine.

There’s also a blood drive so you can help others facing cancer treatment, surgery or other health issues. You can make an appointment to speed things up.

If you’re thinking of earning an NC State degree, the folks from undergraduate admissions will offer sessions in both English and Spanish. Or, if your dreams involve travel and spending time with the grandkids, get a retirement checkup.
