North Carolina State University officials will announce a significant gift to the university and its College of Management during an event at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, in Nelson Hall Auditorium (room 3400).
Media coverage is invited. Parking is available in the Dan Allen Drive parking deck, across Dan Allen Drive from Nelson Hall.
Chancellor Randy Woodson, Dr. Ira Weiss, dean of the College of Management, and the donors responsible for the gift will be available to speak with media at the conclusion of the event.

Based on predicted weather conditions for Thursday, Dec. 16, North Carolina State University will operate under Status 4 (adverse weather advisory) until 10 a.m. Under this status, all personnel except critical staff are to follow provisions outlined for adverse weather conditions until 10 a.m. The university’s adverse weather policy can be found here.
Exams scheduled for 8 a.m. will be delayed until 10 a.m. Exams scheduled for 1 p.m. will be delayed until 2 p.m. Exams scheduled for 6 p.m. will be administered on time as scheduled.

A new study from researchers at North Carolina State University sheds light on how a technique that is commonly used for making single-metal nanoparticles can be extended to create nanoparticles consisting of two metals – and that have tunable properties. North Carolina State University will hold its third annual forensic science symposium –including presentations of cutting-edge crime scene investigation technology and techniques – on Tuesday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the College of Textiles.
The event is open to the media, and will be held in the College of Textiles’ Convocation Room (Room 2309) on NC State’s Centennial Campus. Media parking is available in the visitor’s lot in front of the college on Main Campus Drive or in the large lot at the side of the building on Research Drive. Dr. Debi Radisch, North Carolina’s chief medical examiner, will give the first of three keynote speeches at 9 a.m. on the current and future challenges of the N.C. medical examiner system. Dr. Jeff Wells will discuss key issues in forensic entomology, and Paul Kish, a forensics consultant, will discuss bloodstain pattern analysis.
