Felder Wins Global Education Award

Dr. Richard M. Felder, Hoechst Celanese Professor Emeritus of Chemical Engineering, has won a 2010 Global Award for Excellence in Engineering Education from the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies.

The award recognizes an individual who has made outstanding and original contributions to engineering education through teaching, research and leadership. Felder was selected based on his work’s impact on engineering education.

Felder, the co-author of Elementary Principles of Chemical Processes, has presented more than 500 workshops and seminars on effective teaching methods. Since 1991, he has also co-directed the National Effective Teaching Institute under the auspices of the American Society for Engineering Education.
