NC State Teams Up for Sustainable Growth

NC State experts teamed up to deliver an award-winning guidebook, online curriculum and workshops on how to protect the state’s natural resources during times of growth.

Their project, Low Impact Development Multimodal Planning Resources for North Carolina, recently won a top award from the North Carolina Chapter of the American Planning Association.

The Marvin Collins Outstanding Planning Award recognizes innovative and highly successful efforts to create sustainable communities.

Faculty and staff collaborated with partners from the University of North Carolina Coastal Studies Institute, Upper Neuse Basin Association, Tetra Tech, The Captain’s Bookshelf, PLS, North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources, McKim and Creed, City of Raleigh and Land of Sky Regional Council.
