FitzGerald’s Design ‘Ride On’

You might catch a glimpse of Pat FitzGerald’s latest creation on the morning commute.

FitzGerald, an associate professor of art and design, is among the 12 winners of the City of Raleigh Arts Commission’s Art on the Move competition. The winning work will adorn Capital Area Transit buses for the next six months.

FitzGerald’s “Ride On” evokes hippy optimism and the current green movement. A lead professor in College of Design’s Advanced Media Lab, his research and teaching span the full range of multimedia production, from digital video to interactive 3D animation.

FitzGerald is a former instructor, artist and manager at the Kodak Center for Creative Imaging in Camden, Maine. His award-winning work has been exhibited across the United States and in Japan.
