OIT Launches New Antivirus Software

New antivirus software is available for faculty, staff and students.

The Office of Information Technology will begin releasing Trend Micro OfficeScan Version 10.6 to campus today. It’s free.

OfficeScan enhancements include faster detection of viruses and malware and incident response as well as enhanced reporting, which permits better analysis and tracking of security issues. It also offers faster start-up time and full system scans.

The deployment to campus users’ computers will be a weeklong process. Users will be prompted to restart their computers for the installation to take effect. It is not critical that the restart occurs immediately.

All computers connected to the campus network must have antivirus protection. For more information, visit the NC State Antivirus Resources website.
