Two Dean Searches Planned

NC State will move forward with national searches for deans of the College of Natural Resources and College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Provost Warwick Arden announced Monday.

Dr. Johnny Wynne, CALS dean, recently announced his retirement, effective July 1, 2012. Robert Brown, CNR dean, has said he plans to retire in fall 2012.

Arden said that he had conferred with Margery Overton, chair of the academic science program task force, to confirm that that group did not intend to recommend major restructuring such as college consolidation.

Louis Martin-Vega, dean of the College of Engineering, will chair the CALS search. Blanton Godfrey, dean of the College of Textiles, will lead the CNR search.
