An Autumnal Japanese Art Exhibit

The NC Japan Center presents a new fall exhibition of paintings by New York artist Hisako Kobayashi from Sept. 22 to Nov. 30. The exhibit curator, Associate Professor of Art and Design Dana Raymond, describes Kobayashi’s paintings as “deeply layered expressions of thoughtful and searching emotions inspired by the human struggle to understand and coexist with nature.”

The opening reception will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Japan Center, located on the Dorothea Dix Campus at 705 Barbour Drive in Raleigh. The event includes a Shizuoka tea sampling and presentation at 4:30 p.m. and an artist gallery talk at 5 p.m. Read more.
