“In the Garden” Nominated for Two New Emmy Awards

“In the Garden with Bryce Lane,” has been nominated for two regional Emmy Awards. This is the third straight year of nominations for the show and brings the total number of Emmy nominations to five.  There were nearly 800 entries this year and NC State was one of only two universities to receive nominations.  “In the Garden” won a regional Emmy in 2011 in the Instructional/Informational Series category.

“In the Garden” is both an entertaining television series and a horticulture-distance education course (viewers can register for the course to earn college credit). Host and instructor in the Horticultural Science Department, Bryce Lane, brings more than 30 years of teaching experience to television. “In the Garden” is produced by University Communications. The production team includes: videographer/editor Simone Keith, producer/assistant editor Sonya Williams Harris and graphic artists Bill Baverstock and John Vanaman. The show airs Saturdays at noon on UNC-TV and repeats Sundays at 11:30 a.m. and Mondays at 3:30 p.m.

Winners will be announced during a live telecast from the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville on January 26, 2013.
