Kessler Accepts Offer at Rutgers

As luck would have it, Friday the 13th of September will be Nevin Kessler’s last day at NC State. The vice chancellor for advancement announced last week that he has accepted an offer from Rutgers University to lead development and alumni relations.

In a message to faculty and staff on Friday, Chancellor Randy Woodson praised Kessler for creating ”a culture of innovation and success that will continue as we move forward.” Under Kessler’s leadership, donor giving increased significantly in the past three years, breaking records in 2012 and 2013.

Woodson appointed Kevin Howell, assistant to the chancellor for external affairs, to serve as interim vice chancellor. NC State will conduct a nationwide search for a new vice chancellor.
