NC State Celebrates China Ties

The Office of International Affairs will join the College of Education and the Confucius Institute to host a university-wide reception next Tuesday to celebrate NC State’s various partnerships and collaborations with China.

The China Regional Reception, part of OIA’s semiannual series of such events to celebrate the university’s international partnerships, is an opportunity for sharing, networking and learning about new prospects for students and faculty with the school’s China-affiliated programs.

There will be poster presentations detailing NC State’s involvement across China, as well as cultural performances; remarks by College of Education Dean Jayne Fleener and Confucius Institute partners; and a video message from the president of Nanjing Normal University, NC State’s strategic partner in China.

The two-hour event begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation on Centennial Campus (1890 Main Campus Dr., Raleigh, N.C., 27606). Refreshments will be provided.

The following week, Oct. 13-14, NC State will host a delegation from Nanjing Normal University. The visitors will take part in three events during their time on campus, including a celebration of the partnerships between the two schools, a talent recruitment workshop at the Hunt Library and a folk culture performance at Thompson Theater.
