New Supply Chain Degree Offered

A one-year master’s program designed to immerse students in both the business and engineering principles of supply chain management is now accepting applications for the summer 2014 semester.

Graduates of the Master of Supply Chain Engineering and Management program will have a combination of targeted skills and knowledge that will make them valuable to potential employers, says Steve Allen, associate dean of the Jenkins Graduate School of Management.

Jenkins developed the program in collaboration with the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering.

“This program is specifically designed for students who have an engineering or STEM-related background to gain additional quantitative skills coupled with the business acumen that our industrial partners are seeking to solve the supply chain and logistical challenges they face,” says Russell King, Edward P. Fitts Distinguished Professor. King and Donald Warsing, associate professor of supply chain and operations in the Poole College of Management, are co-directors of the program.

The application deadline is March 15 (Jan. 31 for international students). Professional work experience is not necessary but an undergraduate degree in engineering or a related discipline that requires a strong mathematics background is required.
