President Obama to Visit NC State

President Obama will deliver remarks on the economy Wednesday at the J. W. Isenhour Tennis Center. You can watch the event live at about 1 p.m. via an online webcast courtesy of the White House.

Of course, the presidential visit not only guarantees a lot of excitement on campus, it affects where you can drive and park for much of the day.

West Deck, the parking facility nearest Doak Field and Dail Park, will be closed to the campus beginning Tuesday night. Only invited guests for the presidential address will be allowed in the deck on Wednesday. The upper Sullivan Parking Lot, behind the tennis complex, will also be closed.

Alternative parking will be available in the parking lots around the Administrative Services Complex and Wolf Village Apartments. Additional parking will be available in the gravel parking lot near the intersection of Western Boulevard and Varsity Drive, and at the Varsity Lot  near Marcom and Gorman streets.

There will be periodic street closures west of Dan Allen Drive throughout Wednesday for security reasons.

Questions should be addressed to NCSU Transportation at 515-3424 or parking services manager David Gregory at 515-1601.

Transit Impacts

Four Wolfline routes (2, 5, 7 and 11) that travel in the Sullivan Drive area will be partially detoured throughout Wednesday.

No buses will serve Wolf Village, the Administrative Services Complex, West Deck or any of the stops on Faucette Drive.

Wolf Village riders should plan to pick up these inbound routes at a stop that will be temporarily located on Gorman Street just south of Wolf Village Way/Jackson Street.

Rt. 5 Varsity will travel inbound from the Varsity Lot via Western Boulevard to Dan Allen Drive and continue its normal route.

Wolfline will try to maintain schedules, but anticipate delays and plan extra travel time. Please check TVS http://ncsu.transloc.com/ for real-time bus locations.

Questions about Wolfline changes during the presidential visit should be addressed to transit manager Kim Paylor at 513-7400 or 515-3424.
