Attend Innovation U 2.0

There’s still time to register for next week’s national conference on new strategies for university economic development. The conference,  Innovation U 2.0: Reinventing University Roles in a Knowledge Economy, runs June 24 and 25 at the Research Triangle Park Foundation Conference Center. It’s based on the groundbreaking report of the same name.

Recovery from the Great Recession of 2007 depends on harnessing the power of innovation to drive economies. Universities have long been huge producers of intellectual capital, and many in the public and private sectors are looking to them as lynchpins for regional innovation economies.

Against this background, the Innovation U 2.0 conference will present national thought leaders who will share strategies for increasing the economic impact of universities. The report that inspired the conference describes how technological innovation, entrepreneurship and business and community partnerships happen in a carefully selected case sample of 12 major U.S. universities.  The role of organizational leadership and culture is a prominent theme as well.  The report’s case studies include:
