Money Values NC State

Money magazine places NC State among the nation’s best values in higher education, ranking it 79th out of 665 public and private colleges.

The new ranking, released online, is based on 17 factors in three categories: educational quality, affordability and alumni earnings. It also takes into account the economic and academic background of students, as well as the types of majors offered at each institution.

The goal of the ranking, “The Best Colleges for Your Money,” is to identify American colleges that “offer students a great education at a comparatively reasonable price that usually leads to a well-paid career.”

The Triangle’s other powerhouse universities also made the list, with Duke ranking 32nd and UNC-Chapel Hill ranking 40th.
