Smile for the Camera at Saturday’s FSU Game

If you want to be part of something big – billions big — make sure to be in your seats at Carter-Finley Stadium early for Saturday’s nationally televised 3:30 p.m. football game against top-ranked and defending national champion Florida State.

Wearing Wolfpack red – but not FSU scarlet and gold – is strongly encouraged.

NC State athletics has partnered with Interactive Photo to take a 360-degree, multi-billion pixel photo from inside the stadium that will be available for online viewing and Facebook tagging shortly after the game.

Fans can sign-up in advance to receive a copy of the photo by email.

The unranked Wolfpack (4-0) is undefeated after four consecutive out-of-conference contests, three of which were played at Carter-Finley. The Seminoles (3-0, 1-0 ACC), who won last year’s BCS Championship with a 34-31 victory over Auburn in the Rose Bowl, are also undefeated coming into the contest, which will be nationally televised on ABC.

State has won five of its last eight home games against the traditionally powerful Seminoles, dating back to 1998.

It’s the first time in NC State’s 122-year football history that the nation’s top-ranked team has played on the Wolfpack’s home field and just the third time the Pack has hosted a defending national champion.

Overall, it will be the ninth time in school history that State has played the defending national champion. The biggest win among those games was a 28-21 victory over 1990 champion Georgia Tech on Oct. 5, 1991, in which freshman quarterback Geoff Bender made his first career start and the Wolfpack defense scored two touchdowns to secure the victory.

That win propelled the Wolfpack of head coach Dick Sheridan into the nation’s Top 10 and helped the team win a then school-record nine games.
