Help With Flag Display to Honor Veterans

For anyone who ever wished they were one of the five Marines planting the flag on Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima, here’s a service opportunity to salute NC State service men and women on Veterans Day.

For the last two years, the Student Veterans Association and Staff Senate have displayed more than 800 flags on the Court of North Carolina and Harris Field. This year, the flags will be on display from Oct. 31 through Nov. 14, honoring the students, staff and faculty who are veterans of military service.

Volunteers are needed to put the flags in place, starting at 10 a.m. on Oct. 31. To sign up, complete the volunteer sign-up Google document.
