Hundreds Expected for 20th Annual 'Take Back the Night' March

More than 500 North Carolina State University students, faculty and staff, and local community members are expected to turn out for the 20th annual Take Back the Night March and rally on Tuesday, Oct. 23.

The march, a demonstration of support for survivors of rape and sexual assault, will begin at 6:15 p.m. and will be followed by a rally at 7 p.m. Media coverage is invited. Parking is available in the Coliseum deck on Cates Avenue.

At 6:15 p.m., marchers will assemble in three locations on campus: behind Bragaw residence hall at Dan Allen Drive and Thurman Drive; on Greek Court at Dan Allen Drive and Fraternity Drive; and on the Becton-Berry-Bagwell Quad on Pullen Road and Dunn Avenue.

The marchers will make their way to the North Plaza behind the Talley Student Center on Cates Avenue for the scheduled 7 p.m. rally. The rally's keynote speaker is Juliette Grimmett, rape prevention education coordinator for the NC State Women's Center.
