Community Listening Forum Invites Public Input on the UNC System

Making the University of North Carolina system a powerful force to solve problems in North Carolina over the next 20 years entails making decisions about its direction today.

That's the message behind UNC Tomorrow, a UNC system initiative that aims to learn more about the challenges facing the state and how the UNC system can respond and maintain its response over the next two decades.

NC State hosts a key component behind UNC Tomorrow - a local Listening Forum - at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the McKimmon Center. Students, faculty, staff and the general public are invited to provide input to UNC system and individual campus representatives.

The Raleigh forum - the last in a series held across the state in past month - is designed for attendees to speak to UNC representatives about specific challenges and needs, and to offer opinions on how the UNC system can better serve them and their communities. Of particular interest are opinions on educational programs and services the UNC system should offer to on-campus students, distance education students, lifelong learners and communities in order to prepare for the future. Ideas are needed, too, for concrete ways of ensuring that UNC system programs contribute to economic development, support current industries and entrepreneurs, and help create the economy of the future.
