NC State, Universidad de Concepcion Sign Academic Agreement

North Carolina State University is hosting a delegation from the Universidad de Concepcion (UdeC), Chile, this week and will sign an academic agreement today (Nov. 17) at 4:30 p.m. in the Chancellor’s Conference Room, Holladay Hall. Provost Larry Nielsen and Rector Sergio Lavanchy will exchange signature formalizing the agreement.

NC State now has centers in Prague, Chile, and China as additional options for students to immerse in overseas studies. These centers will allow students to take courses which will count towards fulfilling their degrees while giving them the opportunity to obtain international experience, a must in today’s global economy.

NC State is accepting applications from UdeC students to come study in Raleigh for a semester or year.  NC State will send its first students to Chile on this new exchange in Spring 2007.

Additionally, several departments on campus, including but not limited to Forestry and Ag. Eng., are in the process of developing dual-degree graduate programs with UdeC.
