NC State Board of Trustees Announces Election of Officers

The Board of Trustees of North Carolina State University today elected D. McQueen Campbell III as chair, Bob Jordan as first vice chair, Suzanne Gordon as second vice chair and Steve Warren as secretary.
The NC State Board of Trustees comprises 13 members – eight are elected by the University of North Carolina Board of Governors, four are appointed by the governor, and one, an ex officio voting member, is the president of NC State’s student body, a post now held by Bobby Mills, an economics and political science major.
The new slate of officers includes:

D. McQueen Campbell, III, of Raleigh, N.C., is a commercial real estate broker, with Campbell Property Group, Inc. He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from NC State in 1993.

Bob B. Jordan of Mount Gilead, N.C., is president of Jordan Lumber and Supply Inc., and served as lieutenant governor of North Carolina from 1984-88. He received his bachelor’s degree in wood sciences and technology from NC State.

Suzanne Gordon of Cary, N.C., is CIO and vice president of Information Technology, SAS. She received her bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics from NC State in 1975, and her master’s in statistics from NC State in 1980.

Steve Warren of Greensboro, N.C., is managing partner of the Gateway Management Group. He received his bachelor’s degree in textile technology from NC State in 1968 and his MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1973.
New board members Gayle Lanier of Raleigh, Barbara Mulkey of Raleigh and John Sall of Cary were sworn in during today’s meeting. Returning members are Derick Close, Lawrence Davenport, Bob Mattocks, Burley Mitchell and Cassius Williams.
