NC State Packs Meals to Feed Hungry

North Carolina State University students, faculty and staff will wrap up National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week on Saturday, Nov. 17, with a 125th anniversary event to package about 125,000 meals in support of school meal programs around the globe.

Meals will be packaged from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in Carmichael Gymnasium on main campus. Media coverage is invited.

The effort is an annual collaboration with Stop Hunger Now, a Raleigh non-profit organization. This year’s event could bring the number of meals packaged at NC State since the beginning of the collaboration to more than 2 million.
