Cal Ripken is Keynote Speaker for NC State’s Shelton Forum

Baseball’s all-time “Iron Man” and Hall of Famer Cal Ripken will headline the seventh annual General Henry Hugh Shelton Leadership Forum, scheduled for Friday, Nov. 7 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at North Carolina State University’s McKimmon Conference and Training Center.

Media coverage of the forum is invited. The McKimmon Center is located at the corner of Western Boulevard and Gorman Street; free parking will be available in the McKimmon Center lot.

Retired Army Gen. Hugh Shelton will host the forum, entitled “Leadership Without Borders: Visionary Leaders for the State, Nation and World.” The forum will kick off with the Shelton Seminar at 8:15 a.m., followed by concurrent breakout sessions and a luncheon. Ripken will deliver the keynote address at 1:45 p.m. The cost of the forum is $179, and preregistration is encouraged. The General Henry Hugh Shelton Leadership Forum is an annual seminar series that focuses attention on the importance of leadership development. The forum is one program offering of the General H. Hugh Shelton Leadership Center, which is administered by NC State’s Office of Extension, Engagement and Economic Development. As executive director, Gen. Shelton is committed to developing values-based leadership skills to enhance corporate, government, education, nonprofit and youth development organizations. The General H. Hugh Shelton Leadership Center offers scholarships, as well as executive, faculty, student and youth development conferences.
