Math Society Honors Ipsen

Dr. Ilse C. F. Ipsen has been selected as a national fellow of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) for her research  in numerical linear algebra.

Ipsen, a mathematics professor, was also cited for her contributions to perturbation theory and its applications. Her research interests include matrix theory, numerical analysis and randomized algorithms.

She previously served as chair of the SIAM Activity Group on Linear Algebra and was SIAM’s vice president for programs until 2009. She is a SIAM book author and serves on the editorial board of SIAM Review.
