Think Entrepreneurship – Think NC State

NC State will highlight its strong history of entrepreneurship at the McKimmon Center on Sept. 6 when the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences hosts its first-ever Access Day. The event is sponsored by BASF Corporation, the world’s leading chemical company, and runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon. This showcases the university’s focus on health and well-being, energy and environment, safety and security.

PAMS Dean Daniel L. Solomon says through programs like Access Day, PAMS wants to build an environment that stimulates opportunities for entrepreneurship and collaboration.

“From SAS in the 1970s, to more recent examples like Agile Sciences and WebAssign, NC State has always been a great place to start a business,” Solomon says.

Guests can browse the latest research and technology from across the college online or submit a request. Nigel Armes, director of R&D operations & services at BASF and Solomon host the 9 a.m. breakfast. Those interested in registering for Access Day should contact Denise Malloy Hubbard with PAMS Corporate and Foundation Relations at 919-515-3462.
