Cassill Joins Dual-Degree Team

Nancy Cassill has been named director of global luxury management, a specialized option in the Jenkins Master of Global Innovation Management dual-degree program.

Cassill, a professor of textiles and apparel technology and management, joined NC State in 2000 and served as department head from 2008 to 2012. She was instrumental in establishing an exceptionally strong industry advisory board for the fashion and textile management program and expanding partnerships with industry. She also led the creation of the bachelor of science degree in fashion and textile design in collaboration with the College of Design.

Cassill is well known for her research on textile marketing challenges, and has developed strong connections with universities around the world. She received a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, a master’s from Indiana University, and a doctoral degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

As director of global luxury management, Cassill’s primary responsibilities will be to provide academic leadership, build strong alliances with industry and grow enrollment. She will continue teaching and conducting research in the College of Textiles. The Poole College of Management will provide support for a doctoral student in the College of Textiles who will work with the global luxury management students.

This one-year curriculum is delivered through a partnership between the Poole College of Management, the College of Textiles and SKEMA Business School.
