Sale and Signings at Bookstore

Okay, now that Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday are all out of the way and you have a jumpstart on shopping for the holidays, NC State students, faculty, staff and fans set their sights on the biggest sale of the year at the two NC State Bookstores locations.

The annual “Madness Sale” is slated for Friday, with most merchandise in the store on sale for 40 percent off. The sale excludes textbooks, yearbooks, computers, software, select computer products and electronics, stamps, gift cards, special orders, class rings, diploma frames and graduation apparel.

The main store, at Harrelson Hall, will be open from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. The Pack Shop at Wolf Ridge on Centennial Campus will be open, with the same price reductions, from 8:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.

In addition to the sale, several authors related to NC State will be on hand to sign their books for patrons at the store from noon until 2 p.m.

English professor Cat Warren will be on hand to sign her new book What the Dog Knows: The Science and Wonder of Working Dogs, which was published in the fall by Touchtone Books.

Former Wolfpack quarterback and All-American punter Johnny Evans, who currently serves as a voice of Wolfpack football and the regional director of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will sign copies of the recently released Wolfpack Cooking, a guide to tailgating with recipes submitted by fans, students, staff and faculty.

Tim Peeler and Roger Winstead will be there to sign NC State Basketball: 100 Years of Innovation, published in 2010 by the NC State athletics department and UNC Press.

Signed books can also be pre-ordered for those who can’t attend the event.
