Top-25 Best Value, Says Forbes

NC State gets another nod for the quality and affordability of its educational programs. Forbes magazine has ranked the university 25th on its list of the nation’s “25 Best Value Colleges” for 2014.

The list, released online, evaluated 650 national colleges and universities.

“We’re not all that interested in what gets a student into college and we don’t focus on selectivity metrics, such as high school class rank and SAT scores,” the publication said. “We use National Center for Education Statistics data, as well as PayScale, as sources. Our sights are set directly on ROI: What are students getting out of college.”

NC State is highly regarded for delivering strong ROI, or return on investment. Its graduates report earning higher starting salaries than their peers who graduated from North Carolina’s other public institutions.

Forbes ranked NC State 167th overall among national colleges and universities.
