Talley Dedication Set for Wednesday

You’ve probably already gotten a new T-shirt and other NC State-branded gear from Wolfpack Outfitters.

You’ve probably already taken a selfie in front of the three-story wolf wall on your way to buy some Howling Cow ice cream.

And surely you’ve waited in line for a coffee treat from Starbucks.

After more than six years of renovation and construction, everyone has been eager to get an early look at the new Talley Student Union, which has been mostly open to students, faculty, staff and visitors since the end of spring exams.

Now, it’s time to officially dedicate the building that was designed to serve the campus community.

Next Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., Chancellor Randy Woodson will lead the official dedication program. Three well-known administrators whose names are on significant spaces in the new building—Banks Talley II, Tom Stafford and Chancellor Emeritus James Woodward—will be honored during the ceremonies.

There will be entertainment, treats and giveaways during the afternoon.

And for those who haven’t had a chance to explore the welcoming new union, there will be informal tours during the open house.
