Wherever they go, NC State alumni go straight to work, and they bring their problem-solving skills with them.

The NC State Jenkins MBA program at the Poole College of Management soared to No. 29 on this year’s Bloomberg Businessweek list of full-time AASCSB-accredited programs in the United States, up from No. 54 just a year ago.

“This ranking places the Jenkins MBA among some of the best and well-established programs nationwide—NYU (24), Southern California (25), Georgetown (26), Brigham Young (27) and Indiana (28),” said Steve Allen, associate dean of NC State’s Jenkins Graduate Management Programs.

The ranking methodology is comprised of feedback from employers (35 percent), students (15 percent) and alumni (30 percent), as well as employment statistics for recent graduates (20 percent).

Among competitive programs across the United States, NC State was ranked 20th by employers, reinforcing the program’s reputation for educating MBA graduates who are prepared to hit the ground running as they launch their post-MBA careers.

“This recognition of our Jenkins MBA program as one of the top full-time MBA programs in the U.S.—and particularly among employers—reflects our relentless commitment to prepare students with an innovative MBA education rooted in practical application,” Allen said. “Under the leadership of our Jenkins Career Management Center Director Beverly Porter, we are working hand-in-hand with companies like Red Hat, Cisco, Patheon and Caterpillar to add real value to their organizations through NC State talent.”

The program earns high praise from its industry partners.

“The Jenkins MBA program is an organization committed to building partnerships with global organizations across many industry segments,” said Rebecca Holland New, executive vice president and chief human resources officer at Patheon Inc. “As a rapidly growing pharma services business, we are keenly interested in training and developing people with the unique combination of scientific knowledge and necessary business and financial acumen.”

“The Jenkins MBA program is dedicated to driving the advancement of global business insights and supply chain management by connecting businesses and students in a way that promotes collaboration and learning.”

Bloomberg Businessweek also surveyed NC State Jenkins MBA students and recent graduates, who ranked the program 38th and 25th, respectively.

In addition, Bloomberg Businessweek released its ranking of part-time MBA programs, among which the Jenkins Professional MBA program ranked No. 45 nationwide. The part-time MBA ranking is based entirely on student and alumni feedback.
