Now that the 2016 U.S. election is over, faculty, staff and students interested in breaking down how and why Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton in this week’s presidential election will have two opportunities to discuss the outcome with NC State political scientists.

On Thursday, political science professor Steven Greene will host “Why Donald Trump Won” at 4 p.m. in University College Commons (Room 110).

Greene is an expert in American and North Carolina government, elections, public opinion, political parties, the role of gender and politics.

On Tuesday, Greene will join NC State political science professors Michael Cobb and Andrew Taylor from 6-7:30 p.m. in Caldwell Lounge for a broader analysis of the presidential, gubernatorial, senate and other local races called “The 2016 Elections: Reflections and Consequences.” The event is hosted by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Public and International Affairs.

Both events are free and open to the campus community.

On Dec. 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hunt Library, Taylor will similar discussions to the business community, as featured speaker at NC State Executive Education’s Wolfpack Your Lunch program. His focus will be on what changes resulting from the election might mean for business. There is no charge but registration is required.
