Lee to Focus on Data Science as RTI Scholar

An NC State professor will collaborate with researchers at RTI International to help K-16 teachers integrate statistics and data science into their classes. Hollylynne Lee, who was recently named an RTI University Scholar, is a professor of mathematics and statistics education.

Lee will partner with John Vavricka, director of RTI’s Center for Technology, and Peter Baumgartner, a research data scientist at RTI, to design and test an intelligent learning system for a professional development course.

The RTI University Scholars Program supports highly talented academics, enabling them to take a leave of absence from their home institutions for one academic year to collaborate with RTI researchers. This year’s class also includes faculty from Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill and NC A&T.
