An Update on the Federal Government Shutdown
Chancellor Kevin Howell shares a message with NC State students, faculty and staff.
Good morning,
You may have seen news coverage around the partial shutdown of the U.S. federal government, which went into effect early this morning. I recognize that uncertainty around federal sponsors and services may raise questions and concerns about your work and other forms of federal support.
I want to reassure you that the university is closely monitoring the situation and that we remain in contact with the UNC System Office and other state officials to understand any potential impacts to NC State.
While we gather more information, it is essential that you continue to work on projects unless you receive a stop-work order from a sponsor. Any such communications should be forwarded to your college research office and the Office of Sponsored Programs and Regulatory Compliance Services.
Regardless of the shutdown, our mission remains the same. The work you do, the things you learn and the ways you seek and apply knowledge are vital to our state, our nation and our world. Thank you for all you do to help keep us moving forward.
The university will continue to share information with you and update our landing page as we learn more. If you need additional support or assistance during this time, please take advantage of the resources available to you through the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program and the Wolfpack Wellness site.
Thank you,
Kevin Howell
Chancellor
