Basketball Season Tips Off Next Week
The NC State men begin a new era under first-year coach Will Wade on Monday at the Lenovo Center, while the No. 9 Wolfpack women open in Greensboro against No. 8 Tennessee.
NC State men’s basketball has more than just a new basketball staff and roster of new players.
When the Wolfpack kicks off the head coach Will Wade era Monday night against North Carolina Central at the Lenovo Center, a handful of changes will be apparent at the sold-out arena.
Wade, now at his fifth school in 13 years of coaching, was hired following the end of last season from McNeese State and has suggested his team will be immediately competitive in the Atlantic Coast Conference after last year’s squad finished 12-19 overall and 5-15 in the ACC, one season after winning the league championship and advancing to the NCAA Final Four.
Wade has compiled a 246-105 record at Chattanooga, Virginia Commonwealth, LSU and McNeese State.
Many of the most significant changes for this season will be in the parking lots, due to on-going renovations at the Lenovo Center. Season-ticket and parking information is available at gopack.com.
NC State’s No. 9 women’s program will kick off its 2025-26 season on Tuesday, when it faces No. 8 Tennessee in the Battle at the ’Boro at the Greensboro Coliseum. It will mark the 13th season for head coach Wes Moore, who has won three Atlantic Coast Conference titles and four ACC Coach of the Year awards.
Moore’s squad was picked to finish second in the ACC in a preseason poll of the media.
