More than 7,400 students will turn their tassels at NC State's spring commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 9.

Thousands of bright minds will earn the coveted status of NC State alumni during the university’s spring commencement ceremony on May 9.

On Saturday, May 9, North Carolina State University will welcome more than 7,400 graduates to the ranks of its alumni at its spring commencement ceremony. The event begins at 9 a.m. in Carter-Finley Stadium. Media coverage is invited. NC State will confer 7,808 degrees at the ceremony, including 5,600 bachelor’s, 1,773 master’s, 338 doctoral and 97 associate degrees. Some of our graduates will receive multiple degrees.

This semester’s graduating class represents 59 countries and 45 states. The class includes 1,432 first-generation students, 133 veterans and 722 international students. More than 3,600 graduates will receive their degrees with honors, including 1,549 summa cum laude, 1,053 magna cum laude and 1,055 cum laude. The class also includes 47 student-athletes, 30 Caldwell Fellows, 45 Park Scholars, 61 University Honors students, 86 Goodnight Scholars and 89 University Scholars.

The ceremony will feature remarks from Harry Sideris, NC State alumnus and Duke Energy CEO, as well as Tonya Henderson Gatling, who is graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in leadership in the public sector.
