NC State’s famous “Slobbering Wolf” logo has been revamped for 2026, joining the classic “Wolf Head” that was refreshed in 2005 and currently serves as the primary mark for NC State Athletics. This revision of Slobbering Wolf follows an NC State brand refresh that took place in early 2025.

Devout Wolfpack fans will know that versions of both these logos have been in use since at least the 1960s, and many variants can be spotted on vintage apparel — and even in a few hidden corners of campus. In all, NC State boasts four main spirit marks: the Wolf Head and Slobbering Wolf logos, the famous “Strutting Wolf” (chest out, left foot forward) and the eternally iconic “Block S.”

All four marks remain the exclusive property of NC State and cannot be used without express written permission from the university. This helps ensure that Wolfpack fans everywhere can purchase official, high-quality NC State merchandise and trust that a portion of their money will go to support student scholarships.

Importantly, the new-look Slobbering Wolf doesn’t replace the vintage mark. NC State maintains its own College Vault Collection (in partnership with the Collegiate Licensing Company) to ensure our wide range of vintage logos can support an even wider range of vintage designs.
