Make NC First in Freedom, The Carolina Journal, Jan. 23, 2013. In 1948, the University of Chicago Press published one of the foundational texts of the modern conservative movement: Ideas Have Consequences, by Richard Weaver. Weaver took his first teaching job at NC State University and later relocated to the University of Chicago.
