UNC leads Duke, NCSU in federally funded R&D

UNC leads Duke, NCSU in federally funded R&D, Triangle Business Journal, Aug. 28, 2012. In 2010 fiscal year, UNC-CH received $546 million in federal funding, Duke received $514 million and N.C. State University received $139 million, ranking it 80th in the nation. In total for the 2009-10 school year, UNC-CH was awarded $803 million for research, called sponsored programs; N.C. State was awarded $266 million. Together, those two universities accounted for more than three-quarters of all the sponsored programs in the University of North Carolina System.
