I think I was the National Pan-Hellenic Council president. I actually pledged Delta Sigma Theta there at [NC] State my sophomore year, became a member of Mu Omicron. I was in the National Pan-Hellenic Council and they sent all the leaders to a C.T. Vivian workshop, race awareness workshop. And, I just think they were so ahead of their time, back in the early 90s. Because now, people are just now approaching diversity, equity and inclusion — and they implemented that workshop way back in the 90s. So I attended that and actually got to meet C.T. Vivian and spend a whole weekend with him. He recently passed, the same day as John Lewis. They both worked for Martin Luther King, Dr. Martin Luther King. But being in the room where, at the time I was the — it was me and a young man named Anthony Scurry, we called him Tony Scurry — and we were the only non-white students, were the only African American students in that room. And just to see how C.T. Vivian transformed how the other leaders thought that weekend, it was just such a moving experience.
