A message of support for Turkey and Syria
The following is a statement from NC State University:
The impacts of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria are beyond devastating and our hearts go out to those impacted in the region and across the globe. We know that many in our community are experiencing feelings of distress and anxiety in the aftermath. NC State’s Office of International Services (OIS) has been in touch with NC State students and scholars from the region to extend our support during this difficult time.
If you are in need of mental health and well-being care, please take advantage of our campus resources.
- AcademicLiveCare, the NC State Counseling Center and the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program are staffed with compassionate professionals ready to connect with you.
- There are 11 drop-in spaces where you can connect with other students, including International Tea Time held weekly on Thursdays from 3-4 p.m.
- Students seeking additional guidance on academic performance, visas and other issues should schedule an appointment with an OIS advisor.
One of our biggest assets as a university is our community. Check in with those around you and offer support when you can. Thank you for coming together during a time of need, Wolfpack.
