Still Time for a Flu Shot

If you missed getting a flu vaccination this season, take advantage of clinics on campus this month. Shots are free to those covered by the State Health Plan or Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

With flu cases increasing on campus—Student Health Services treated more than 250 students with flu symptoms in January—there’s still time to protect yourself. Although January and February are peak months for seasonal flu, cases can occur as late as May.

This year’s vaccination provides protection against both seasonal and H1N1 influenza in a single shot.

Register online for the scheduled clinics:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 8, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Talley Student Center, south gallery
  • Thursday, Feb. 17, 1 to 5 p.m., McKimmon Center, Room 6

Registration helps ensure that enough nurses will be on hand to serve you. The second clinic may be canceled if initial participation is low.

Bring your insurance card and a photo ID card to the clinic. Those without coverage under the eligible plans can be vaccinated for $30, payable by cash or check.
