Take the SmartCommute Challenge
Pledge to bike, walk, carpool, vanpool, telecommute or take the bus to work between now and June 1 and you could be a winner.
Take the SmartCommute Challenge, and you’ll be registered for a chance to win a laptop, commuter bike, $750 in cash and other prizes.
Not sure how to try a new commute or don’t know anyone to carpool with? Here’s how to get started.
- Carpool: Find a fellow NC State carpool partner through Zimride.
- Form a vanpool: Carpools from the same general area can form a vanpool and save even more money. NCSU Transportation contributes $15 per month per person toward vanpools and allows free parking for Triangle Transit vans.
- Take the bus: Use the GoTriangle transit trip planner to find your bus route. Remember, Wolfline is always free and NC State faculty and staff are eligible for a GoPass to ride CAT and Triangle Transit buses for free.
- Bike or walk: Find a walking times map, links to local bike maps, information on bike and pedestrian amenities at NC State, and more at WolfTrails.
If you’re already a smart commuter, you’re still eligible to sign up. If you’re a new smart commuter who’d like to make it a daily routine, consider signing up for NC State’s Wolftrails alternative commute program for more benefits.
