Tornado Volunteers Needed

NC State is organizing a “study break” service project this Saturday, April 30, sponsored by Student Government, Universities United, Staff Senate and CSLEPS (the Center for Student Leadership, Ethics and Public Service).

But you don’t have to be a student to get involved. University faculty and staff turned out to help clean up Shaw University last week, and they’re welcome to participate again.

The organizers need volunteers for the following projects:

> Shaw University Cleanup Round II (removing trees and preparing for the upcoming graduation ceremony)

> Rebuild Raleigh, sponsored by the Salvation Army/Green Chair (unloading and sorting donated food, supplies, furniture, etc.)

> Faculty/Staff/Student Support (assisting members of our university community who need help cleaning up after the storm)

All volunteers will meet at the Talley Student Center at 9 a.m. on Saturday and should be finished around 1 p.m. Team captains will assign volunteers once they arrive at Talley. Transportation will be provided to and from the service sites.

Interested volunteers should sign up online. They also need team leaders for each work crew to sign up online.
