Strnad Honored for Environmental Education
Renee Strnad, Extension forestry specialist, will be honored as Environmental Educator of the Year during the Governor’s Conservation Achievement Awards next month.
The North Carolina Wildlife Foundation cited Strnad for managing some of the state’s “most energized” wildlife programs for youth and college students.
She coordinates Project Learning Tree, an environmental education program for educators and pre-K to 12 students. Strnad works to connect young people to the outdoors through activities such as the Fur, Fish, N Game Rendezvous. She is active in Environmental Educators of North Carolina and the North American Association for Environmental Education.
