Bohlander Named Chief Communications Officer
Brad Bohlander, executive director of public relations at Colorado State University, has been named associate vice chancellor for university communications and chief communications officer at NC State, effective Nov. 7. Vice Chancellor of University Advancement Nevin Kessler made the announcement today.
In his new position, Bohlander will manage a department of more than 40 staff and have responsibility for creative design and editorial services, Web communication, media relations and employee communications.
At Colorado State, Bohlander serves as university spokesperson and manages primary media relations, crisis communications, social media, internal communications and community relations activities. Before joining CSU in 2002, he was the University of Colorado System’s associate director for university relations from 1999 to 2001.
Bohlander served as the communications coordinator and public information officer for the City of Boulder’s public works and planning department from 1996 to 1999. Prior to that, he was assistant vice president for external relations with Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Denver for two years.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in technical journalism from Colorado State and has completed coursework for a master’s in communications management, with a thesis in progress.
