Coliseum Construction

We found an interesting set of photos related to the building of Reynolds Coliseum among the online galleries maintained by the State Archives of North Carolina. The photos are part of the Barden Collection.

Despite a delay caused by World War II, Reynolds was a welcome addition on campus. The first game was played on Friday, Dec. 2, 1949, when the men’s basketball team defeated Washington & Lee by the score of 67-47.
