Plaques Mark Hallowed Places

Historical markers have been installed at some of NC State’s hallowed places as part of the university’s 125th anniversary celebration. The plaques can be found at:

  • Holladay HallPlaque on the Brickyard.
  • Free Expression Tunnel
  • Mary E. Yarbrough Courtyard
  • Brickyard
  • Belltower
  • Court of North Carolina

A seventh plaque will be installed at Reynolds Coliseum in coming weeks.

The idea for the historical markers originated with History Professor Craig Friend. The 125th Anniversary Committee worked with the Office of the University Architect to plan the project. Staff in the Facilities Division installed the markers last month. Read more about NC State’s hallowed places.
