Tim Wise Headlines Diversity Week
Tim Wise, among the nation’s most prominent anti-racism writers and educators, will present the university’s annual Fall Diversity Dialogue on Tuesday, Oct. 15, as part of a week-long celebration of cultures and people. Named one of “25 Visionaries Who are Changing Your World,” by Utne Reader, Wise has spoken in all 50 states, on over 800 college and high school campuses, and to community groups across the nation. He has also lectured internationally on issues of comparative racism, race and education, racism and religion, and racism in the labor market.
Admission is free, but for priority seating, pick up your tickets at the computer connections desk in the University Bookstore (Harrelson Hall) beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 3.

Love Free, or Die is about a man whose two defining passions are in direct conflict: his love for God and for his partner Mark. Gene Robinson is the first openly gay person to become a bishop in the historic traditions of Christendom. The film follows Robinson from small-town churches in the New Hampshire North Country to Washington’s Lincoln Memorial to London’s Lambeth Palace, as he calls for all to stand for equality – inspiring bishops, priests and ordinary folk to come out from the shadows and change history.
