Woodson’s Spring Update March 17

If you want to get the latest on some of the exciting initiatives taking place across campus, from efforts to recruit top faculty to the big jump in donor giving, you’re in luck. Chancellor Randy Woodson invites you to join him in the beautiful new Talley Student Union ballroom at 10 a.m. Monday, March 17 – St. Patrick’s Day – for his spring update.

As Woodson marks his fourth anniversary at NC State, he’ll bring you up to date on many of the university’s recent accomplishments. That’s a lot of ground to cover, encompassing the biggest grants and gifts in NC State history, top awards for faculty, staff and students, and significant gains in rankings and reputation. Not to mention accomplishments like the implementation of the new strategic plan, the opening of the extraordinary Hunt Library and double-digit gains in energy efficiency across campus.

Be prepared to do a lot of cheering.

And  in case Woodson tries to downplay his own accomplishments, keep in mind that he’s one of the nation’s top education leaders, chairing the board of directors of APLU, the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, and traveling to the White House last month on Air Force One to make the case for increased access to higher education.

Woodson is also expected to give a brief preview of his annual fall address, which will lay out his priorities and objectives for the future.

The chancellor will be introduced by student body president Alex Parker. The event will conclude with an informal reception. Space is limited so plan ahead and arrive early.
